New Board Direction: PBD 2017-02 Use of Procure IT for procurement of ICT goods and services

4 July 2017

All agencies to use the Procure IT framework when dealing with suppliers of information and communications technology (ICT) goods and services.

From 1 July 2017, the NSW Procurement Board requires every NSW Government agency to use the Procure IT framework when dealing with a supplier of information and communications technology (ICT) goods and services.

This follows the new Board Direction 2017-02 Use of Procure IT for procurement of ICT goods and services approved on 1 March 2017. This direction applies from 1 July 2017 until it is withdrawn

Government agencies may only vary the standard terms and conditions of the Procure IT framework when they obtain written approval of the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation (DFSI).

The Direction also covers the area of intellectual property (IP). While by default the IP stays with the ICT supplier, an agency can apply to retain it.

Full details are in the Procurement Board Direction 2017-02.
